In the picturesque countryside of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles is the third generation to run the traditional family fruit-growing business. After graduating from the renowned Federal College for Wine and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums and peaches. His entry into the distillation of fine brandies began in 1979, followed by the founding of his manufactory for high-quality vinegar in 1984. Today, the range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many types of vinegar, which regularly receive recognition.
Gölles Alte Marille apricot brandy matures for 8 years in oak barrels and is closely linked to the Austrian fruit tradition. It is mainly made from the varieties "Ungarische Beste" or "Wachauer Marille", which are grown in central Burgenland. This base is supplemented by a selection of modern varieties from Styria.
