The Demerara distillery in Guyana, located on the tropical north coast of South America, has been processing sugar cane since 1670.
The premium brand EL DORADO has become a byword for high-quality rum worldwide.
The blended rums from El Dorado are blended from different vintages or batches as well as from different stills.
A combination of Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still and the Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still.
A 15 year aging in selected oak barrels gives this blend its spicy-fruity character.
The 15-year-old offered here has been awarded as the "Best Rum in the World" for the fourth time in a row!
First-class quality and fineness due to the maturing time in old oak barrels.
Tasting notes:
Colour: Amber.
Nose: spicy, dark chocolate, candied oranges, almonds, notes of pepper, vanilla.
Taste: Intense, balanced, grilled tropical fruit, notes of oak, spices.
Finish: Long lasting, smooth.
What an amazing smell and taste is great though I prefer the 12 and 21 year old El Dorado. This one has a rather big hint of Whisky.

Tolles Angebot mit Gläsern; er hat aber geschmacklich in den vergangenen Jahren etwas nachgelassen. Habe ihn 2007 von Tobago mitgebracht, war damals definitiv besser!
