Absinthe from France
Although Absinthe was invented in Switzerland, it can also look back on a great popularity and long tradition in France. Initially only a fashion drink, Absinthe developed relatively quickly into a drink for the masses in France. After the introduction of the Absinthe "Happy Hour", it even competed with wine. This was followed by mixed times, an absinthe ban, new regulations on the thujone content and the subsequent legalisation. The French market never fully recovered from this and the absinthe wedding is long gone. Nevertheless French Absinths can score with their orientation to the classical, traditional Absinths and high quality.
