Tennessee whiskey is made with a particularly high proportion of corn (about 80%), which gives the whiskey a distinctly soft taste. In the production of Tennessee whiskey, it is also common to filter the whiskey through a thick layer of charcoal, which gives it a certain sweetness and distinguishes it quite significantly from the bourbon whiskey produced in Kentucky. Chris Stapleton even sings about the typically "smooth" Tennessee whiskey in his famous song.
Probably the best-known brand in this category is clearly Jack Daniel's. The company significantly shaped the rules and production methods for this particular category since 1866. However, in our whiskey store we also carry other brands such as George Dickel or Heaven's Door. The last could even win a number of awards and prizes for its Staight Bourbon Whiskey, produced in cooperation with Bob Dylan in Tennessee. For open-minded whiskey fans, we recommend our Jack Daniel's Family of fine Spirits, which takes you on a remarkable taste journey of masterful nuances.
