The A.H. Riise Distillery, located on St. Thomas in the Caribbean, combines more than just excellent taste in its spirits - it captures a rich history. Founded in the 1840s by pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise, during the island's time as a Danish colony, each bottle combines traditional distilling skills with its founder's passion for discovery. Riise's discoveries of new plants and herbs in the West Indies still shape the characteristic taste of the premium rums today. A.H. Riise celebrates a heritage full of adventure with every drop.
The selection and special treatment of the barrels are crucial to the creation of A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare. The longer charring of old barrels allows the blend to penetrate deeper into untouched layers of wood. This method, combined with carefully selected base rums, shapes the unmistakable taste of the blend. The distinctiveness is evident in every detail, from the deep dark hue to the complex aroma, which is presented in a specially designed, multi-faceted bottle.
This special edition of A.H. Riise Rum is based on the old recipe, which is no longer produced and is therefore considered a special rarity. This rum recipe contained a higher sugar content than the new one, which is now found in the A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare Spirit Drink.

Dieser Rum ist der absolute Knaller! Wunderbar weich und vollmundig. Durch die Lagerung in alten Sherryfässern erinnert der Rum an Sherry. Duft und Geschmack nach Vanille, Banane, Caramel, Schokolade.

hier bezahlt man eine Menge Geld für die Aufmachung. Geschmacklich liegt der A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra nicht weit von den den stark orangenlastigen Rums wie - Pyrat XO Rum, oder dem Don Papa entfernt - Es stellt sich die Frage, ob der ca. dreifache Preis des A.H. Riise im Vergleich zu den beiden anderen Rums, für dessen intensiveren, voluminöseren Abgang gerechtfertigt ist.

Sehr guter Rum. Weich, toller Geschmack. Einzig ein Punkt Abzug weil er nah er an der Grenze zu "zu süß" ist.
Allerdings (zum Glück) nicht so süß wie: "A.H. Riise Family Reserve Solera 1838 Rum 25 Years Old Limited Edition"

Bekannten sind alle begeistert. Schmeckt sogar der Frau oder Freundin
da er noch etwas süßer ist im Vergleich zu anderen Top Rums. Hervorzuheben ist hier der fruchtige Geschmack... nach Orangen.
Für mich ganz klar die Nr. 2 der weltbesten Rums, allerdings hinter dem Ron Zacapa Etiqueta Negra alte Version welcher ein Jahrhundertrum war oder ist.
