Ron Zacapa Rum
Ron Zacapa is the premium rum par excellence. The rum ripens at an altitude of 2300 metres. Ron Zacapa is stored for a short time in sherry barrels, which gives it its unmistakable taste. Ron Zacapa is therefore not without reason one of the most internationally awarded rums in the world.
Zacapa rum from Guatemala has been produced in the Zacapa region of the same name for over 80 years. It is best known for its Ron Zacapa 23 Centenario Solera Rum, which, as its name suggests, is produced using the typical Solera process. This was introduced in honour of the 100th anniversary of Zacapa's birth. Ron Zacapa is now managed by Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, a distillery group, and Diageo. The special Solera process makes this rum a speciality: Individually distilled and matured rums are filled into various old barrels and married in an elaborate process.
