This Charlestown distillery in Aberlour, in the Speyside region of Scotland, is currently run by the Chivas Brothers.
The company was founded in 1826 and rebuilt after a fire in 1879. This was followed by mixed times in which Aberlour was sold several times and drastic measures such as production stops were taken. In 1973 the distillery started to grow again, it was expanded (Wash- and Spiritsstills) and finally taken over by S. Campbell & Sons with the licence holder Chivas Brothers. The whiskies are matured in ex-sherry or bourbon barrels for between 10 and 18 years, married by the master blender and then allowed to come into the glass.
Aberlour Single Malts already have a very large fan community and present themselves in a wide and interesting range of products in different age groups.
