The most sold American whisky is the Jack Daniel´s from Tennessee (USA).
The "Sour Mash" whiskey, which comes from the small town of Lynchburg in Tennessee, USA, is the best-selling American whiskey brand worldwide with a production of approx. 90,000 litres of whiskey per year. Jack Daniel's Whiskey was launched in September 1850, but no one knows exactly on which day, as all documents were destroyed in a fire at Lynchburg Town Hall.
Jasper Newton Jack Daniel bought his first bubble at the age of 14 and immediately started making whisky. The business went well because Daniel knew how to market himself and the distillery in Lynchburg was built. Daniel´s Nephew and cousin continued the business, inheriting their share to their children. The charcoal filter process, first introduced by Jack at Daniel´s, is particularly special. After prohibition in Tennessee lasted much longer than in the other states, whisky production only resumed after the end of World War II. Whisky was marketed as the nectar of the gods and celebrities and became a world brand after it was sold to Brown-Forman.
