Speyside Single Malts
This green, high-yielding region is home to most of Scotland's whisky distilleries (about 60). The Spey is its longest river and, as is so often the case with spirits, is named after it. Together with geological conditions such as pure water, peat and plenty of barley, the river forms a perfect basis for whisky production.
The single malts are known for their distinctive sweetness, combined with a hint of classicism and fruitiness. As they mature, the whiskies develop a spicy aroma reminiscent of dried fruit, with a floral scent.
Well-known distilleries are Ardberg, Ballantines, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich and Cadenhead´s - all of them and many more are available for you in the EXPERT24 online shop.
