Whisky from Wales has been produced by Penderyn Distillery since the 19th century. Before that it was called "Welsh Whisky Company". In Penderyn, the distillery was reopened in 2004 after being closed at short notice in the presence of Prince Charles.
The extraordinary thing about Penderyn is the special distillation process used for this whisky, which was developed by Dr. David Faraday. The distillate is produced in a single-stage potstill distillation with over 90% alcohol.
Unique whiskies with a complex structure make it a coveted whisky.
