The Domäne Wachau is the largest winery in the Wachau and, as one of the most successful cooperatives, is one of the leading wineries in Austria. The vineyards of the Domäne Wachau are located on both sides along the Danube and on the steep dry terraces of the entire Wachau.
The Domäne Wachau is known far beyond the Austrian borders for its outstanding quality wines. The terraced vineyard terraces demand a targeted grape harvest by hand and produce unique and complex wines. The stone walls are built from natural materials especially for this purpose. As a member of the Vinea Wachau wine region protection association, the region's typical quality wines Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd are produced.
The main grape variety is Grüner Veltliner. The wines are divided into terraced and individual sites. This also includes shares in the sites Loibenberg, Kellerberg, Singerriedel, Hochrain and Achleiten.
