Wine from Burgenland
The easternmost province of Austria produces complex white wines and special red wines with its hot climate. The Leithagebirge supports the optimal development of extraordinary white wines with its gradient and soil composition of limestone and slate. In the case of white wines, the Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Grünem Veltliner grape varieties can benefit from this.
Lovers of fine Prädikatswein also get their money's worth. In addition to Blaufränkisch, Blauem Zweigelt and St. Laurent, the Ruster Ausbruch is a true highlight of Burgenland. Especially the southernmost part of the wine-growing region, the Seewinkel, favours its optimal development and ripening process due to its unique microclimate.
The fine, sweet Ruster Ausbruch is produced from grapes covered with noble rot in a small number of editions. The high humidity of the small lakes enables the formation of these Beerenauslesen and Trockenbeerenauslesen, typical of Burgenland.
The extraordinary creative spirit of the winegrowers should also be emphasised. This is probably also a reason for the numerous quality designations such as Neusiedlersee, Mittelburgenland, Leithaberg, Eisenberg and Rosalia DAC.
