A blended malt refers to a whiskey that has been blended from malt whiskies from different distilleries. In principle, it represents the opposite of a single malt, where only malts from different casks of a single producer are blended. A blended malt is just as high quality and diverse in taste as a single malt whisky. The art of blending lies in achieving an optimal ratio. To do this, a variety of malt whiskies are often blended to create an ideal blended malt. The heavy and complex notes are not softened by more velvety grain whiskies, as is the case with blended grain. One of our finest blended malts is Chichibu Ichiro's Malt, which combines special malts from different continents and whose rich notes promise almost endless flavor variety.
